I am an ecologist broadly interested in the mechanisms that generate and sustain biodiversity. My research focuses on understanding how ecological communities form, evolve, and persist across time and space. I aim to develop predictive frameworks that can guide the management and restoration of biodiversity in the face of global change. To achieve these goals, I use an integrative approach, combining fieldwork with analytical tools from graph theory, simulations and mathematical models. While I primarily use mutualistic interactions as a model system—given their standing as the cornerstone of many ecological systems and their critical role in ecosystem functioning—my research has broader applications across ecological interactions.
